A special memorial service will take place in Belfast to honour the thousands of refugees and migrants who die each year while attempting to reach safety.

EMBRACE, a local charity, will host the event on Sunday 18 January at 3pm in Newtownbreda Presbyterian Church (St. John’s), Ormeau Road, Belfast.

The service offers the community an opportunity to remember the lives of men, women and children who have perished.

Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Parish Hall.
