The church must look outwards if it is to understand how it can grow. This is true of any Methodist Church (or Church) in the world, no matter its history, context or challenges. We need to be humble and smart enough to recognise that everyone can learn something from everyone else.

Irish Methodist World Mission Partnership is the part of the Methodist Church in Ireland (MCI) that links us with our huge worldwide Methodist family (80 million members) and other denominations, mission organisations and individuals ploughing a furrow in other lands. MCI congregations take February to explore the world Church and God’s world mission and our place in them through a WMP service. The prepared materials this year (online), with video, images and stories, emphasise how churches must work together and listen to each other in order to grow God’s church into what it can be. The stories contained in the 2022 February service refer to over twenty national churches – stories that will inspire, remind, educate, challenge and equip us as Irish Methodists.

A story, from North Macedonia is featured in our February edition.
